By now, most students have invested two years of dedicated effort into preparing for their 12th board exams and competitive exams like JEE and NEET. With the final stage approaching, it’s natural to feel some pressure. However, maintaining a strong focus and proper planning during these critical months can make all the difference.
The syllabus for the 12th boards, JEE, and NEET is now complete, and with a 15-day gap in the schedule, mornings are available for effective studying. However, as school, college, and coaching classes get over during this period, it could lead to wasted time. It is essential to stay disciplined and structured to maximize this opportunity.
Have You Planned the Next Few Months Wisely?
Here’s a month-by-month guide to help you stay on track with your preparations:
December: Pre-board Preparation and Exams
Pre-board exams closely mimic final board exams and are an excellent indicator of your readiness.
Focus on board preparation alongside JEE/NEET studies.
Use sample questions provided by your school or college to strengthen your grasp of the board syllabus.
Treat pre-board exams as a rehearsal for the finals.
January: Board Practicals
Though you may have been practicing board practicals regularly, now is the time to focus more intensively on both theory and practicals.
Dedicate full days to practical preparation as scheduled by your college.
Balance practical exam preparation with ongoing JEE/NEET studies to ensure comprehensive readiness.
Late January: JEE Mains 1st Session
The first session of JEE Mains requires focused preparation.
Practice previous years’ JEE Mains question papers (from the past 7–10 years).
Prioritize speed and accuracy while solving mock tests and online practice papers.
Simulate exam conditions during practice sessions to build confidence.
February to Mid-March: Board Theory Exams
Board exams demand thorough preparation in subjects like PCM (for JEE) or PCB (for NEET).
Solve textbook examples and previous board exam papers.
Use large gaps between exams to revise for JEE/NEET.
Create a mental map of the board exam schedule and plan your studies accordingly.
Mid-March to April: JEE Mains 2nd Session
This period is crucial for improving your JEE Mains score if needed.
Revisit weak topics, clear doubts, and focus on revision.
Solve past papers for JEE Mains, CET, and other relevant exams.
Practice regularly to enhance both speed and accuracy.
April to May: JEE Advanced and NEET Preparation
With JEE Mains behind you, shift your focus to the JEE Advanced syllabus.
Practice higher-level questions and solve previous JEE Advanced papers.
Follow exam-specific strategies, such as simulating exam conditions by practicing in the same time slots.
For NEET, continue PCB revision:
Allocate time to cover the entire syllabus comprehensively.
Use the last three months to solidify your understanding and focus on weak areas.
For state-level entrance exams and other exams after JEE and NEET:
Solve CET-specific papers and focus on accuracy.
Utilize the momentum from JEE/NEET preparation for these exams.
Preparing for multiple exams like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET, and CET, along with board exams, is no small feat. However, with proper time management, discipline, and a clear plan, you can excel in all.
Remember, this journey isn’t meant to be undertaken alone. Seek guidance from your mentors, teachers, and parents whenever needed. A well-structured plan and timely support can lead you to success!
