Breakfast kiya kya?

Nahi!

Toh padhai mein dhyan kaise lagaoge?

It is common to see children and adults nowadays not eating breakfast in the morning.

What could be the factors for skipping breakfast in the morning?

1.Anxiety due to morning rush

Children usually get up just 15-30 minutes prior to lecture and struggle to attend it on time. As they are anxious, it is easy to skip breakfast and rush for the lecture.

2.Not knowing the importance of a good wholesome breakfast

Students and many times even adults do not know the importance of a good breakfast. The saying which suggests eating breakfast like a king is very true. Instead of having a good breakfast, students have started having lunch as their first meal which leads to low concentration in the morning.

3.Not feeling hungry after having heavy dinner or late night snacks

Nowadays, this is the biggest challenge for children and even adults where they are awake till midnight munching on chips, chocolates and noodles. Due to these habits, there is delayed digestion and hence late emptying of the stomach and hence not feeling hungry for the next meal which is breakfast.

4.Replacing a balanced breakfast with dry fruits or juices

Instead of having a wholesome breakfast like idli, poha, paratha, upma along with fruits or milk or eggs, children just eat dry fruits or drink juices because it is convenient. This habit leads to nutritional deficiencies which may be harmful in the long term.

Even though we feel it's a personal choice to have or not have breakfast but we recommend to start your day with a full breakfast and make it the best meal of your day because:

1. Mornings are best utilized for studies and the mind is most suited to learning in the morning (either self studying or attending lectures) and because a student has to use his brain for studies, providing good amounts of glucose to brain cells helps them function well.

2.Once you eat sufficiently, you can focus for 2-3 hours easily without getting distracted by the thought of eating something.
